Occasionally we are asked why volunteers have to pay for their volunteer accommodation at Mwaya. The reason? To provide suitable facilities for volunteers to live, eat and clean in!Â
In the summer the water tank developed a crack and despite several attempts to repair it, it eventually burst. The team has been busy maintaining the water tower, making it slightly taller so there is better water pressure. They then had the task of getting this mammoth tank to the top!
Our volunteer accommodation consists of four chalets and communal kitchen and bathroom facilities. Oh, and they’re metres away from the beach.
We’ll share some photos of camp soon, but for now, take a look at how you could volunteer with us.
