Imagine that you have spent the day as a volunteer teacher working alongside teachers in a local school, assisting with lessons or helping with lesson planning. Or you may have assisted as a medical volunteer gaining valuable experience in the provision of medical treatment and care or supporting our disabilities coordinator. You may have even been out and about collecting valuable data on a range of our projects to help our staff compile case studies and reports to funders.
During your day you will have most likely been greeted by everyone you passed on your daily commute with lots of smiles, waves and hellos.
Following your rewarding day, you’ve returned to Mwaya Beach to your beach chalet, which is set in a secluded bay on a pristine beach. Our wonderful chefs, Fabiana, Martha and Geddess (whose dishes would give Gordon Ramsey a run for his money) welcome you back, whilst they are busy preparing your evening meal. You take some time out, relax, catch up and swap stories with your fellow volunteers, and watch a beautiful moonrise. Then dinner can be eaten out on the deck, under the brilliant southern stars and to the sound of gently lapping waves.
Volunteer in Malawi, one of the poorest and smallest countries in Africa and its beauty will take your breathe away. Malawi has the most welcoming and heart-warming people you will ever meet, which is why it is called ‘The Warm Heart of Africa’.
