What are you having for your Sunday dinner today? In Malawi, families might not be sitting down to a Sunday roast but cooking has been made easier for 40,000 households. How? By the introduction of our fuel-efficient cookstoves locally known as Changu Changu Moto (Fast Fast Fire).
Liana is 18 and she loves cooking. She said “The Changu Changu Moto cooks faster than a three stone fire as it allows me to cook nsima and relish together rather than letting one get cold whilst the other is cooking. I can never imagine returning to a traditional three stone fire, particularly as it is much easier to clean pots that have been on a Changu Changu Moto than those that have been on a three stone fire!”
She loves her Changu Changu Moto so much that she has taught friends in other villages how to make their own.
Did you know you can offset your carbon emissions through this project? Our fuel-efficient cookstove projects are registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), operated and administered by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
