It’s the end of the work day in Malawi and whilst we normally share project photos, today we thought we would share one of our Family Planning and Sexual Health project team.
Khumbo and Watson run this project and work closely with a local youth group Moses and Violet run.
The team are on their way back from working at a local school where they have been running interactive sessions with students about population size, relationships, health, financial planning and family planning knowledge.
The students have the opportunity to ask the team questions and because Khumbo is a qualified nurse-midwife and Watson a health worker, they are keen to do so.
Why? Because many of these youngsters feel embarrassed about going to their local clinic as their parents or neighbours might be there.
We are talking with healthcare professionals and parents too to overcome this obstacle to ensure those wanting more information or access to family planning can do so.
