Whilst in Kayiwala village to visit tree planting families the team were asked how people could protect their fruit trees from pigs and goats.
The team suggested netting was ideal and fortunately the homeowner had some old fishing nets. Putting in some wooden poles, they used the net to make this simple barrier around the fruit trees to keep the animals out.
People who keep livestock will often let them roam free, collecting them in at night but they were getting frustrated when their fruit trees were being damaged. They are now hopeful that the trees will grow and bear fruits.
