Earlier this year we mentioned that the community fruit tree clubs shared a number of trees with schools and with vulnerable people in their community. One person who benefited was Lucy.
Lucy had a stroke and although she managed to walk again, she cannot manage such long distances. The doctor has said that in order to build her strength, she needs a more varied and nutritious diet.
Kapanda Community Tree Club members were keen to help her so delivered and planted 10 orange, tangerine and lemon tree seedlings.
Not only will Lucy be able to eat the fruit but any surplus she will be able to sell and buy other food to balance out her diet not only for herself but for her three children too.
