Today is International Youth Day and a opportunity for us to celebrate Philip’s latest milestone. He is now attending primary school.
Aged eight, Philip has been supported through our Disabilities and Rehabilitation project for more than four years.
Born with cerebral palsy, his mother has attended group sessions every week and received training on various exercises to do at home which has significantly helped.
Philip has reached various milestones over the years including sitting up and standing unaided, feeding himself and more recently, learning to walk. He is still mastering walking but has a wheelchair which helps his mother get him around including to school.
