Meet Shadrick. He has been a Fisheries Extension worker in Malawi for 31 years. Having worked in almost every District bordering the Lake, Shadrick was excited to be arriving to the fish conservation meeting on his motorbike.
Why? This is what he said, “In all my time as an extension worker I have never worked with a project partner that actually delivers what they say they will. When I heard Ripple Africa would be working in my area I did not know what would happen. They said I would get a motorbike. You delivered on your promise for which I am grateful. I have 24 Beach Village Committees that I work with and I can now reach them all.”

He continued, “I am also grateful for our meetings. We are asked for our input and our ideas are listened too. I am looking forward to working with Ripple Africa on the Fish for Tomorrow project in Mangochi.”
Providing a method of transport is relatively simple but so important, and it is equally important that donors understand and appreciate why.
Motorbikes play a crucial role in all of our environmental projects. We span six Districts and project managers cover vast areas but having a motorbike means they can get to work, be effective in their job and ultimately, get amazing results.
