Kasapa community group have been making beds for the sweet potato vine multiplication. Formed in 2018, the 16 members work together to multiply the vines ready for the coming season. As a club, they want to commercialise their farming activities so that they not only have the improved orange-fleshed sweet potato to eat but can make an income too from the sale of the vines.
We have taught them a number of farming techniques to make the multiplication process more successful for example planting in beds compared to in ridges. This makes an ideal growing environment.
