Likita Manda (far right) is 42, married and has six children. He is one of our Lead Community Volunteers (LCV) on our fuel-efficient cookstove project.
He joined the team nine years ago and before that, he was a fisherman. In his role as LCV, Likita looks after 15 villages. He has worked with more than 3,000 households, teaching them how to construct the Changu Changu Moto fuel-efficient cookstove.
Now his main role is checking householders are using their cookstove, maintaining it well and using the correct size wood to cook with.
Likita said, “Ever since I started working for Ripple Africa I’ve helped save trees for my community and country and this makes me really proud. Ripple Africa has taught me a lot.”
