Joyce is 60 years old and lives in the village of Maxwell in northern Malawi. Mother to nine children, Joyce now cares for five of her grandchildren. She said, “I prepare food for myself and the children using the Changu Changu Moto. It really helps me as it saves me time as I use less firewood compared to a three-stone fire.”
Mercy is 19 years old, married and has one child. She lives in Chiwondowondo village in rural Malawi. Like her fellow villagers, they all cook using the Changu Changu Moto fuel-efficient cookstove. Mercy said, “I cook for my family and my brother-in-laws so this cookstove helps as I can cook two things at once. It also uses less firewood too so I don’t have to collect as much which saves me time.”
