It’s always a great feeling for our Project Managers to see what they’re teaching being put into practice. Maston, who runs our community fruit tree project popped by to see Violet and her father John to see how they were caring for their fruit trees.
When he arrived they were busy adding leaves and covering the base with bricks – two of the things they’d learnt at one of Maston’s sessions.
These techniques help keep moisture in, provide nutrients when the leaves mulch down and the bricks also stop animals – especially chickens, from digging up the tree roots.
