Members of a Fish Conservation Committee carrying out another confiscation of illegal fishing gear (mosquito nets) in Nkhata Bay. One of the Coordinators visiting from Salima explains ‘We are working towards the same goal here in Salima. We will soon achieve it. You should see how passionate and excited people here are to have been delegated this responsibility of taking care of their fish resource. Night patrols have already started’. This clearly shows how empowered the communities are to manage their own fish resources and the Fish for Tomorrow Project is proof that this method works.
