A number of the clients we support through our Disabilities and Rehabilitation project have hydrocephalus.
Hydrocephalus is a build-up of fluid in the brain. The excess fluid puts pressure on the brain, which can damage it so urgent surgery is required.
Cafe had surgery in October 2019 at eight months old. Since then, he has achieved a number of milestones and is able to sit independently, crawl and stand up with support. He is now learning to stand unaided and walk.
Today, Valentine’s Day, he celebrates his second birthday. Happy Birthday Cafe!
