The Mwaya tree nursery team have distributed fruit trees to seven local schools. Six primary and one secondary school have received a selection of avocado and orange trees which the students will help plant and care for.
Maston who works at the tree nursery said, “After visiting the schools to assess that they have the right conditions to grow these fruit trees we have now delivered them. We are hoping to create some more local fruit tree planting clubs too.”
As well as growing and caring for the fruit trees, the tree nursery team also carry out grafting and budding, pest and disease control, manure making and care for the Ripple Africa orchards.
