It’s Earth Day, the annual celebration that raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations.
Our work in Malawi sees us supporting communities to not only plant trees each year but protect 340 sq.km of forests – after all it is just as important to look after what we already have as well as planting new trees.
Throughout the year the forest conservation team work with local communities to educate them on the importance of trees as well as helping Forest Conservation Committees to create fire breaks and carry out patrols.
There are other benefits to protecting trees too – these forests provide homes for wildlife including monkeys and birdlife.
You too can help as 25p not only plants a tree but protects three in an existing forest. How many trees will you plant and protect this Earth Day?
