Elliness is 11 years old girl. Her mother lets her help in the kitchen as they have a fuel-efficient Changu Changu Moto which are safer compared to traditional cooking methods. She cooks for her parents and her three siblings but she can’t wait to go back to school in October.
Living in rural Malawi means that when school closed due to Covid-19, Elliness had no way of learning so she helps her mother with the daily chores such as fetching water and firewood, washing clothes and preparing meals.
Online learning is not viable for a large percentage of the population but one more month and she will back in a classroom. How does this compare to life for your children?
