How excited are these students at Nkhafu Primary School in Malawi? They are so glad to have clean water to drink at school that they really did create a song and dance about it!
Their borehole broke in July but now the 411 pupils don’t have to miss class to walk miles when they need a drink or water to wash their hands.
Mr Nkhata is the school’s Health and Nutrition teacher. He said, “It was very difficult for the school to follow Covid-19 prevention methods when the students could not even wash their hands. This borehole is not only used by the teachers and students but the local communities rely on it too.”
Nkhafu Primary School is almost eight kilometres from Nkhata Bay town and the 340th borehole repaired by Ripple Africa and the District Council.
For the price of eight new boreholes we have managed to repair 340 providing thousands more with access to clean water.
