Late in 2020 the Standard 7 and 8 classroom block at Mazembe Primary School had to close as the roof collapsed. Fortunately this was over a weekend so no-one was injured.
Funding from Fonthill Foundation enabled us to repair the classrooms and although we had a slight delay due to heavy rains, the classrooms now have new treated timbers and iron sheets on the roof and the walls have been repaired.
They have reopened to students who, after a year of challenges for one reason or another, are glad to be back in their classroom again.
We have a number of other school maintenance projects that urgently need funding. Please get in touch if you’d like more information: [email protected]
