Shalom, Blandon and Memory all attend Mwaya Primary School but compared to previous years, they now go to school with a nutritious breakfast.
Their mother is one of the beneficiaries of the improved orange-fleshed sweet potato project and since growing the vines has not only been able to cook breakfast each morning but sells any excess at the local market.
She said, “I used to buy bread for my children but since growing these potatoes, they no longer want bread – even my husband likes them!”
