Our building and carpentry team are on the final straight as they finish the roof on the new classroom block at Kapanda Community Day Secondary School. Following a decision by the Government of Malawi to double the number of students entering Form 1 at the school each year, we successfully secured funding to construct this double classroom block.
We were also able to provide desks for all the children who are currently having to work in a temporary outdoor classroom. The school is currently closed for the holidays and will re-open in October when the new academic school year starts in Malawi, by which time the classroom block will be ready to use.
